From Fen Drayton Pre-School
Fen Drayton Pre-School provides a safe, friendly and caring environment for children from 2 ½ to school age. We offer the children a varied and spacious play environment at Fen Drayton Village Hall which has the benefit of green outdoor space overlooking the playing field. Fen Drayton Pre-School is a small Pre-School for up to 16 children offering them the opportunity to develop and grow in a very supportive environment, ensuring they are confident and ready for school. Pre-School activities are structured around the national Early Years Foundation Framework and all children are regularly observed to ensure they are progressing. Staff at the Pre-School have had experience of working with children who have learning difficulties or disability and actively engage with professionals like Speech and language Therapists which has positive outcomes for children.
“Children's personal, social and emotional development is supported very well in this warm and caring pre-school. They arrive happy and enthusiastic. Children greet staff affectionately and quickly become involved in the activities." (Ofsted report 2014)

Fen Drayton Pre-School is a member of the Pre-School Learning Alliance and is also a registered charity. We opened in 1982, and have been established within the community for over 30 years. For over 20 years the Pre-School has been led by Diane Warboys, who is currently assisted by Anne Hodson, each of whom are qualified to NVQ level 3. The Pre-School is managed by an elected volunteer committee, all of whom are checked by the Disclosure and Barring Service. The Committee oversee the governance of the Pre-School, and do a lot of work to help organise our numerous fundraising events which enable us to ensure we remain financially viable. We have particularly close links with Fen Drayton School and actively seek opportunities to do events together which helps familiarise the Pre-School children with a school setting.
In June 2016, our Volunteer Committee were extremely proud to have won a national 'Outstanding Volunteer Team' award from the Pre-School Learning Alliance. The award recognised the Committee's role in the community, their fundraising achievements and their commitment to ensure the Pre-School had a sustainable future.
